Backyard Labyrinth Fairy Garden

This past summer J. Lynne Associates created this beautiful fairy garden to add to this homeowners already stunning backyard oasis. There was a lot of line drawing and stone laying on this one!

After initial demo the ground was marked out for the start of the design. The most important part of any installation is the initial planning, as shown here. It takes an eye for detail and a strong imagination to see how a space like this will look in the end but that vision is essential to ensure that the finished product looks just as good in reality as it does on paper.

This is a native Prairie Smoke (Geum triflorum), which blooms a beautiful pink flower in early summertime. Prairie Smoke makes a great ground cover in places where a taller plant would be too large or take up an unnecessary amount of space. It is important to have a balance of large and small plants in a design and Prairie Smoke is a wonderful small plant to achieve that balance.
